Do-it-Yourself Homecoming Hairstyle

Every girl dreams to be the homecoming queen. To dance the night away with your prince and wear a wonderful tiara fit for a princess. In your dream, your hair is perfect; but such is not the case in reality. Doing your own homecoming hairstyle can be tricky sometimes. But not to worry, there are a lot of do-it-yourself homecoming hairstyles that you can do on your own.

Do-it-yourself homecoming hairstyles are easy to follow and easy to manage. Practice makes perfect; it may sound cheesy but it is true in this case. Practice doing your hair before your homecoming and take a picture of it. Do at least two do-it-yourself homecoming hairstyles and choose whichever suits you the best.

The sophisticated up-do, a sure hit for the homecoming dance, is a gorgeous look for anyone; it's a simple and easy to do-it-yourself homecoming hairstyle; believe it or not, anyone can do this at home. You will need: A blow-dryer, a styling lotion or mousse, a wide-toothed comb, a brush, hairpins, hot rollers, a fat curling iron, hairspray and holding spray. First step: Wash hair and put styling mousse in hair from the roots to the tips. Dry hair; this style needs very dry hair to work. After the hair is completely dry: roll hair in hot rollers. Spray holding spray on tresses of hair before you start rolling in curlers. Once the curls are cooled down, it is time to take out the rollers. Be sure to keep the chunky pieces of curls together. Pull hair into a ponytail. Take a chunky piece of curl from the "tail" and roll it up. Do this until all your hair is up. But be sure to pin the curls in different direction to create more interesting crown. No bangs: Part your bangs on the side and smoothly along side of face. Last but not least: Add hairpins for additional support to this.

You can do a lot of things to your hair; play it straight, give it a curl or just a regular ponytail, but the classic way and the one that is the most popular is still the classic up-do. The great thing about this hairstyle is that with a little practice, one can do this easily. And when it is time for the homecoming dance, you need not worry about your hair because you know that it is up there and it will stay up all night.

Easy Do It Yourself Hairstyles

One of the simplest and easy hairstyles to maintain is a short trendy hairstyle that is easily manageable, looks sexy and is often in fashion. You can part and style it quite easily with styling products. Alternatively you can scrunch dry it by scrunching up the hair in the palm of your hand under a blow dryer to give more volume in the hair.

On short to medium length hair, a simple and quick hairstyle may be to pin back your hair with some side combs. If you have more time, putting in some rollers the night before should give some pretty waves in your hair the next day that can be worn loose and also pinned back if required. When exercising or in a hurry, the classic ponytail is always a winner.

Another fast and quick hairstyle that you can do your self at home, is pigtails or also plaits. If you have more time, or another person handy, an elegant style that keeps the hair off the face is by doing a fishbone braid. You start this by plaiting the hair in the middle of the scalp, and adding an extra piece to all 3 sections of hair from the outside parts of the head, and then by joining it onto the middle plait.

If you're going out tonight and need a neat hairstyle, another easy one is the classic bun. This is a quick, classic and elegant hairstyle that can be achieved by tying the hair into a tight pony tail and wrapping the ponytail around and pinning the spiral of hair to the scalp.

Sedu Hairstyles: How To Reveal The Natural Beauty of Your Face Shape

Face shape is one of the most important points in your hair style. If your haircut does not fit your face shape - you risk looking dull if not awful.

In Sedu hairstyles face shape matters, too. Because of the face shape, Jennifer Aniston wears only layered long hair and Jennifer Lopez sports her famous tight bun.

So, if you want to have really great sedu hairstyle you should first define your face shape. Here are several ways to do this:

1. Ask another person to define your face shape. This method is rather tricky because it is hard to guess the face shape by eye. Only a very skilled stylist can do this.

2. Try your hair in a pony tail and outline your face with a lipstick on a mirror. This method is not very reliable though, because mirrors can distort your real face shape.

3. Finally, you can try measuring your face by several parameters. It is the most reliable method to define your face shape. With facts and figures you can be totally sure what your face shape is.

To apply the measurement method for determining your face shape, follow these steps:

1. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones;

2. Measure your face across the jaw line from the widest point to the widest point;

3. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally it is between your eyebrows and hairline.

4. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.

5. Remember to write down all measurements on the separate piece of paper so that you would not mix them with the other calculations.

Now it is time to define the type of your face shape:

o Oval face normally has length equal to one and a half times of the width;

o Round face is as wide as it is long;

o Oblong face is simply longer than it is wide;

o Heart face is narrow at the jaw line and wide at the cheekbones and/or forehead;

o Square face is about as wide as it is long and has obvious rectangular form;

o Triangular face has wide jaw and narrow cheekbones with not very high forehead;

o Diamond face is widest at the cheekbones, has narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal width.

Of course, it is impossible to determine the face shape precisely. We usually have faces with mixed types of shape. For example, Lindsay Lohan has face shape, which is oval with some features of the square.

But once you are absolutely sure about the lengths and width of your forehead, cheekbones and chin, the stylist will be able to define what face shape you have, and after this to decide what haircut will fit you best.

Here are the face shapes of famous celebrities:

o Oval: Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Hillary Duff, Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Watson, Pamela Anderson;

o Square: Jessica Simpson;

o Heart: Jennifer Lopez;

o Oval to triangular: Halle Berry, Carmen Electra.

To define what will suit your face shape is easy. All you need is to follow these simple rules:

1. If your face is oval or diamond avoid covering your face with too much hair or you risk hiding your best features;

2. Central parts are not good for oblong, round, square, heart, and triangular faces. You should sport any other kind of parting;

3. Round, square, and heart shaped faces won't go with short haircuts that add fullness to the upper part of the face;

4. Triangular faces look best with short haircuts as this draw attention to the eyes and hide prominent jaw;

5. Oblong faces will look best with short to medium layered cuts;

6. Round and square shape faces look best with soft waves and height at the crown that would elongate the face.

But of course the best way to choose a perfect haircut is to have a picture of your favorite celebrity hair style. You only need to make sure that the model has the same face shape that you do.

Thus, sedu hairstyles are the easy trick if you know how to get the haircut that will suit you perfectly, and face shape can add to your image once you define exactly what will best express your natural beauty. Use these simple tips to find what fits best for your sedu hairstyle.

Prom Hair Styles

A large part of any girl's prom is the prom hairstyle she chooses. The most popular prom hairstyles are subject to change each year. This year feminine, wavy styles are popular, but edgy styles will also fit the bill.

Today's most popular prom hairstyles are luscious curls or waves. Multiple layers around the face, fresh curls, and shoulder length hair combine into an ideal of the feminine the mirrors the style of leading pop divas. Similar but less finished, soft twists combine those curls with styles that are half up / half down. Bangs are also in, especially large or sultry bangs swept to one side.

In spite of the emphasis on curls, straight hair still has its place among the popular prom hairstyles. Straight hairstyles that are textured or have a sleek mirror-shine are especially popular.

More daring styles include shoulder length bobs reminiscent of the late '70s; the mullet is also in, combining cropped sections with longer tresses. Also popular is the extremely short cut worn by actress Alyssa Milano.

Always have a fallback style in case your hair refuses your chosen prom hairstyle. The popular French braid is an example of a style that can add class and control to any bad hair day.

The right accessory can make the difference between attractive and stunning. Bejeweled hair sticks or vintage hair combs are popular. Whatever you choose, be certain the hairstyle is consistent with the dress you have chosen, as well as with your jewelry.

Prom Hairstyle Guide

If you are looking for the perfect prom hairstyle then you will want to start by looking at what is trendy this prom season. For the 2007 prom season think retro. Look back at styles from the 20s, 60s, 70s and 80s for inspiration. Consider the page boy, the shag or a pixie cut. Create formal looks from these styles by adding sparkly hair accessories like beaded headdresses, fancy headbands, beaded or bejeweled barrettes, or flowers.

If you have medium length hair then you can select from longer versions of popular short haircuts, or you can use curls and waves to create a trendy look. With medium length hair you can select from hairstyles that are down and loose, or from styles that are up-does. Create formal looks for medium length haircuts by adding great hair accessories. Or if you are looking for an edgier look try adding spray color and gel.

While 2007 hairstyle trends are focused on short hairstyles, long is still in. If you have long hair then your prom hairstyle should try to include long spiral curls or soft waves. Long hair can be worn up, however, the trend for long hair is to wear it down and soft. Create a more formal look by adding flowers and bejeweled hair clips.

If you will be going to a hair salon to get your hair styled for the prom make sure that you arrive at your appointment with several ideas. While it is okay to have a main hairstyle in mind when you arrive at your hairstyling appointment, it is a good idea to have one or two backups just in case the first style doesn't work out. A good way to avoid hairstyle disasters at the eleventh hour, take advantage of free hairstyle consultations offered by most professional hairstylists.

The Power of Changing Your Hairstyle

How can hair change your entire look? The power of hair to change the physical appearance of a person is still puzzling. If you have notice, a person who makes a drastic change on her hairstyle is very noticeable. It will also seem like she changed her personality as well.

Animals do not have this kind of effect. Aside from certain types of dogs, you will not really notice a difference if the hair of other animals are cut. Although you will see some changes, it will not give the same impact as it would to human beings.

This is why choosing a style is important. One has to think about it before making the decision. If you are going to choose a style, think about how long you are going to keep it. If it will only last for a day or two, you can take the risk. It will not really matter if you make a mistake because you can easily change it.

These styles include those done with thermal devices. If you have a curly hair and you want to try having a straight hair, just use ceramic hair straighteners. This will last for a while but you can go back to your natural hair in no time. You can also curl your hair if you have a straight hair with the use curling irons.

However, if you want a more permanent change, you have to think about it very carefully. You can achieve this change in many ways. Changing your hair color is one. Changing from a lighter shade to a darker one will make it very noticeable. You can even add highlights. People will surely notice it especially if they are used to seeing you wearing the same hair color for a long time.

You can also achieve a more permanent change by asking for a new haircut. Guys with long hair look very different when they cut it short. It gives a cleaner effect on them. The same with women, they can have instant makeover just by cutting their hair. Changing the haircut does not mean cutting it short. It also means changing the style of the cut. There are many kinds of haircuts, they can choose certain types without taking away significant inches off the hair.

The role of hair does not stop with changing a person's look. The simple use of the ceramic hair irons is a way to move on and start over for some. This is common among women. Most women change their hair whenever they are dealing with emotional challenges. For them, this is a start to look at things in a different perspective. Most feel that it is necessary in regaining their self-esteem.

Changing your hairstyle can change you in so many ways. It can change your look temporarily or permanently. However, changing hairstyles has a more important meaning for others. For them they change their hair because they want to look at life in a more positive way. For others, this is a symbol of a new life and new goals. Therefore, never underestimate the power of changing your hairstyle.

Using A Reese Witherspoon Hairstyle To Look Elegant And Feminine

Image : http://www.flickr.com

A Reese Witherspoon hairstyle can give you simple sophistication!

There are many talented actresses who have hair that every woman wants, but the time, stylist talent, and money invested to get and maintain those looks, are things that most of us don't have.

But using a Reese Witherspoon hairstyle to look really elegant and feminine is very simple. She is well known for her classic look and sophisticated style, which is always complemented by the different styles she likes for wearing her hair. She has had many different looks over the past few years, and they can all be done from home with just a few styling products.

A Reese Witherspoon Hairstyle Signature Look

One of her signature looks is her long straight hair with long bangs, and it can be copied very easily. First apply a spray gel or frizz control agent to keep hair looking smooth and flawless, and to also add some definition to the ends. Then run a hair straightener thorough it to work out any kinks, and finish off with a brush to add some texture. This look works great with layered hair when creating a soft look, but can also be done with stick straight hair that needs a little life.

One way that Reese Witherspoon keeps herself looking fresh and sophisticated is with her up-dos, which can be done with either long or short hair. She normally teases up the top or sides of her hair and then pins it back to make it look smooth and structured, and then the back can be done in a number of different styles depending on hair type and length. Using a Reese Witherspoon hairstyle to look stylish yet casual is easy with this basic style, since it can be thrown back into a ponytail or left down for added volume.

Like most famous actresses, Reese Witherspoon also experimented with the bob, and it really worked great for her. It can either be left stick straight for a fun look that is choppy and layered, or large curls can be added to change a day look to night. Add some hairspray or spray gel to the curls to keep them together without a sticky look, or apply wax to straight ends to make them stand out. Using a Reese Witherspoon hairstyle to create an attractive new look can easily be done with a bob, since it is very versatile and easy to work with.

Those with black hair need not fret as there are now hair styles for those with black hair too. Men too are not far behind in the world of hair styles with there being quite a great variety of men's hair styles! Long style basically works out well for all types of hair- straight or curly, but looks at its best if the locks are maintained a medium-texture or is thick. Those with fine hair or a long and narrow face should avoid long styles. Short hairstyles suits all face shapes; but if you have curly hair, it's better to opt for a longer style as a short cut looks puffy. Wearing a parting straight down the center tends to add width to the forehead. Pulling back your hair highlights your jaw line and thins and elongates your neck.

Little Girl Hairstyles

There are thousands of popular little girl hairstyles that you may want to learn and become familiar with for your next special event or just for something new for everyday. Little girls love to have their hair done just as much as you do, and learning more about the new trends of 2008 you can make your little girl feel like a princess in just a few short minutes! Check out these different hairstyles and techniques below and see if they fit your little girl's hair length and preferences.

Every mother likes the convenience of short hairstyles for their little girls because they are easy to maintain. Just as with adults today, the bob is a very popular and can be varied in many different ways to mix it up for different occasions and events. You can straighten the hair, curl it or even create the casual waves that are so popular today. All of these options are quick and easy to create so your little girl will not become impatient during the process! Another great feature of this great hairstyle is it will last all day with very little product.
For little girls with medium hair lengths you have more options such as half up look with barrettes or clips, pony tail and even bangs. Many mothers do not like to have bangs on their little girls because they can be so hard to maintain but the side swept bangs are pretty much self contained, so there is nothing for you to do but brush them. These bangs go with everything and you can create the long curls that create a look for special occasions or for everyday.
Little girls love to have accessories in their hair such as barrettes, hand bands, pony tails, clips and ribbons. You can be sure that no matter what hairstyle your little girl has, that there is a perfect accessory out there to further compliment it and make their hairstyle a bit more unique. Accessories are a great way to spice up your little girl's hairstyle without having to do a lot of styling or even change their cut.
It is important to remember not to use a great deal of products or styling tools when your little girl is under the age of 5years old as they can greatly damage their hair and it can be hard to recover from at such a young age.
Take advantage of their young age because they can literally wear any type of hairstyle and look cute! Of course you want to find styles that do not require a lot of maintenance on your part, but there are tons to choose from.

Little girls love to be pampered and a great idea is to take them with you to the salon and see what your hairstylist thinks would be a great look for them. This is not only a great way to find a new hairstyle for the year but to create a nice bonding day as well with mother and daughter.

You can always count on little girl hairstyles to remain the same and classic as they always have. Although little girls are becoming more and more concerned with fashion and style, they will still enjoy their little girl cuts before they want to start looking like their favourite celebrities. Allow your little girl to be creative and change their style whenever they want with accessories and a little product. Enjoy this young age and their love for being pampered with their mother, with so many little girl hairstyles to choose from your little girl will look great no matter where she is.
